If the Shoe Fits, Buy It! Carlos Santana Prestige peeptoes
Carlos Santana scores again with these fun peeptoes! This rich cranberry color is perfect for cooler weather, and the ribbon accent adds a chic bit of flair. These are also available in grey and navy, which are equally gorgeous.

Feed Me Now! Potato rolled tacos
I have a newly minted fascination with potato rolled tacos, mainly because they are one of few meat-free alternatives at my favorite hole-in-the-wall taco shops... I mean, a girl can't eat a 4 pound veggie burrito every day. No, really - I know because I've tried.
Now, creating glorious potato rolled tacos can be tricky... the potato filling must be properly seasoned or all you will taste is the fried tortilla. While Santana's has a fairly tasty version of potato rolled tacos (called "calitapas"), the potato to tortilla ratio is not quite right.
By far, the best potato rolled tacos that I have had the pleasure to meet are offered at La Puerta. While this is not a typical taco shop (it has actual silverware), it is SO worth finding parking in the Gaslamp to frequent La Puerta. Their margaritas and micheladas are fantastic... and their potato cheese rolled tacos are stupendous! Topped with pico de gallo, sour cream, and cotija cheese, and served with a chile de arbol dipping sauce, these are ridonkulously tasty. I ordered some to share with my happy hour companion, and ended up eating the whole plate myself (I know, oink, oink)... it was the perfect size for a light dinner.
Even better - during happy hour, all drinks and appetizers are half price, so the rolled tacos are only $3 for an order.

Throwback - Highlights
Highlights magazine was my go-to entertainment in all pediatrician and dentist offices during my youth.
The waiting room was much more interesting when I could peruse the exciting worlds of Goofus (aka the douchebag) and Gallant (aka the simpering wuss), or search for the rotting trout hidden in the girl's hair...
I mean, really, "Highlights: Fun with a Purpose" - doesn't it just sound like a fantastic time? Who wants to just have plain old fun when you can have fun with a purpose? As Steve Martin taught me in The Jerk, we all have a special purpose.

WTF? Hello Kitty castle
Have you ever heard the saying, "too much of a good thing is great"? Well, I think this proves that too much of a crappy thing is... still crappy.
Presenting... the Hello Kitty castle! Located in Shanghai, this house of horrors is all Hello Kitty, all the time.

One word, two times: Really? Really?!
Now, I like cats as much as the next girl (read: I am thisclose to being a crazy cat lady, and would happily maim someone for making fun of my three-legged cats), but this is seriously a wee bit excessive.

The Office
In honor of yet another Monday, I have graciously decided to share with you some professional wisdom that I have picked up over the years... here are my top 5 tips:
- Do not be embarrassed when a client hands you a gift in a Victoria's Secret bag and says "I hope they fit"... it could be a pair of flip flops.
- Do not let the big boss catch you watching Youtube videos of ice-skating cheese races, even if you have a 10-spot on Gouda.
- Do not google "fake meat" or "shaved cat," even if you are looking for a plastic ham or a Persian with a lion cut.
- Do not tell a client that they are "so beefy," or backpedal by explaining that you just think they smell like meat.
- Do not loudly use the term "one-eyed monster" when you really mean "green-eyed monster."

Retail Therapy - BCBG wrap sweater
Hooray! We are finally expecting some rainy weather in my neighborhood (my favorite!), and that means it is time to sport a cozy outfit. To me, however, cozy does not equal sweatshirts... I am kind of a sucker for wrap sweaters, and this BCBG version is simple but so beautiful. Check out the sleeves! Yo quiero.
