Feed Me Now! Dinner at home

I was lucky enough to have some of my lady friends over for dinner last night, and tried to prepare a meal that was special enough to serve them! Since I only had an hour between getting off work and expecting my guests, I tried to prepare as much in advance as I could.

Of course we needed some serious after-work libations, so I made pomegranate and champagne cocktails with a splash of cassis.

We started munching with an appetizer of homegrown zucchini from my lovely friend's garden with dip, as well as carmelized onion and feta tartlets (thank you, Trader Joe's!)...

Dinner began with my 'famous' garlic soup, with parmesan and olive oil baguette croutons.

For the entree, I made a goat cheese and artichoke strata, which was filled with fresh herbs and five (yes, five) kinds of cheese. The strata was perfect with sweet and savory mashed yams (recipe courtesy of my grandma!)

Dessert was the moistest red velvet bundt cake in the world, topped with cream cheese frosting. It was specially delivered by my friend, who got it from Nothing Bundt Cakes. I highly recommend checking them out, because this bundt was the bomb.
